The problem with link spam

Legions of advertisers and algorithms feel entitled to force content directly into our brains every day in the real world and online. By sending a bare link out of the blue, you put yourself in the same company.

Ten seconds. One sentence. "This is hilarious", "this made me think of you", "do you think this guy can really fit all those apples in there?". Without that, opening a mystery link from someone is basically an unpaid internship in mind-reading.

Our attention is one of our most precious resources. Be a human, not an algorithm.
